Website Development

Nowadays, Anyone can create a website! With all the point and click template website creation sites out there, Yes “Anyone” can create a website. Just like anyone with a paintbrush, a canvas and a few tubes of paint can create a painting. Would you consider it art? Probably not! Same goes with Website Design. Creating a website that works for your business involves a lot of thought and work – and I am not afraid of rolling up the sleeves and getting down to work. Having a web site that works for you and your customers is more than just slapping some words and pictures together. Making sure your site is navigable, searchable and inspires your clientele to take action are just a few of the aspects to work through to provide you with a website “You” can be proud of!

First and foremost, we turn things around and educate you as to what to expect from a website and how you can best benefit from having one.  Small business people generally have an unrealistic expectation that a website can solve all their advertising needs.  Though a website can be used to replace some of the traditional forms of advertising, it is best to be used in unique combinations with them.

Second, Gone are the days of a business owner not having complete control over what is contained within their site.  In the past, when you had to have special programs to update the content of a web page, many business owner got caught up in the codependent relationships with the person that created their website.  Today, there is NO reason for such dependencies.  All our sites are created using dynamic technologies that allow the business owner to update their own website.  NO exceptions!  I don't expect to get a call from you to update a price or change a phone number.

Third, You will often hear me talk in the “We” context.  I know on the face of it, it looks like I am a one man band.  But the reality of it is that I work with a bunch of people.  I have learned over the years that I can not know everything and there are some things I am not good at.  It is just a reality of it and I am not ashamed to admit it.  What I am good at is knowing where and how to get it done with the best results for You, our customer.  I may often turn to a network of programmers to get unique things done, or turn to an artist that I know can create a better type of design.  It is in these relationships, created with subcontracted individuals, that I think of us as a “Team”.  Even in developing this site and knowing I needed to “toot my own horn”, I have had to hold back to the urge to use “We” instead of “I” in every sentence.
